Volunteer with The Friends

So many of our members say the reason they joined the Friends was to ‘give something back’. You can do that by volunteering at our summer music festival as well as at our visitor van, ‘Rambling Rosie’, helping visitors fine their way around the park. Or, in the autumn the park appreciates our help with bulb planting and if you have green fingers or want to learn more, why not volunteer at the allotment? Litterpicking is another firm favourite and is essential to helping the park look its best.
The choice is yours and you will be sure to ‘gain’ just as much as giving back to a park you care about.

Visitor Van and Bandstand Volunteering

Visitor Van Volunteering

Visitor Information Van
The Visitor Van operates on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from mid-June to mid-September. Operating hours are 10:.00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each day, we require two volunteers for morning and afternoon sessions to provide a wide range of information to park visitors. There is a comprehensive Van Operating Manual on site and a dedicated Van Manager is on call each weekend to give help and advice should you need it.
The Van is transported at 10:00 a.m. to the chosen site (usually at Clarence Gate) by Gavin Jones staff. They will help remove the table and chairs from the van and extend the awning if you need help with that. They come tow the van away at about 4:45 p.m. You’ll meet new people and come away with a much better understanding of a park you thought you knew inside out.

Bandstand Volunteering

Volunteering - Bandstand
The Regent’s Park Music Festival 2025 Season Bandstand Series will be on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holiday Monday from 21 June to 21 September. At this FREE Bandstand festival, we have music of all kinds: jazz big bands, brass bands, steel bands, and choirs. Also, at our “Saturday Jazz on the Broad Walk”, we have jazz combos, mostly students or graduates from the music academies.
Click here to view the: Music Festival Programme.
Each concert has a Bandstand Manager and Bandstand Assistants -one on Saturday and two on Sunday. The hours are 13.30 to 16.30 on Saturdays and on Sundays, two sessions 11.30 to 14:30 and 14.30 to 17.30. No particular skill is required, and training is provided on arrival. The tasks are outlined in the Task List Job Description in the Link below.
Why is volunteering at the bandstand so enjoyable? Because you get to help decorate the bandstand, help the musicians, hand out leaflets, talk to the audience, and raise donations to pay for the concerts… oh yes- you also get to hear some great music while making it happen!
NOTE: Volunteering here is for Bandstand Assistants.
