The Hub (a pavilion cafe with underground changing rooms) is at the centre of the northern parklands, where an impressive array of sports activity take place. With an annual throughput of more than 400,000 players, football, rugby, lacrosse and cricket take place here. Numbers peak at weekends with some 270 junior football teams present in the winter season between September and Easter. Local adult clubs take their turn on Sundays, and schools occupy the space for mid-week activities.

It has a huge range of outdoor pitches for hire offering on a year-round basis. A total of 20 softball pitches, 5 cricket pitches, 3 cricket nets, 5 touch rugby and 5 rounders pitches, as well as the running track and 6 measured runs of different distances.  Winter pitch facilities include football, rugby and lacrosse, while cricket, softball and touch rugby pitches can be booked during the summer months. Belsize Park Rugby Football Club play their home games in the park.

The 5-person Hub management team handle about 10,000 bookings a year. About 260 teams regularly use the pitches, and The Hub is the home base for many local teams. Football pitches cost around £80 to hire for 2 hours, and there are additional charges for goal nets corner flags and the use of changing rooms.

The Hub management work with several partners to provide opportunities to play sports and enjoy physical activity in Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill. Current partner arrangements can be seen on The Royal Parks website.
