In the south western part of the park, located by York Bridge, the Tennis courts are now run directly by the Royal Parks charity. You can book one of the 12 tennis courts (ten floodlit) for a game, or reserve a purpose-built floodlit padel court.
Two of our courts can be used for netball and we also have an outdoor table tennis table available to book. The courts are open Monday to Sunday, 7am to 9pm. You’ll also find toilets, changing facilities and a waterpoint at The Courts, or stop by our friendly and sociable Courts Café for drinks and refreshments.
Bookings are done online and can be made up to seven days in advance, with new availability released daily at 7am. Go to https://sportsandleisureroyalparks.bookings.flow.onl/ to make a booking – you will need an account with Royal Parks to do this.
To get the Friends discount, email regentscourts@royalparks.org.uk with your account customer number and a photo of your Friends membership card with expiry date.

From 1 February 2026, improvement works will begin at the pavilion buildings in The Regent’s Park. During this period, the pavilion buildings will be closed to the public until April 2026. Outdoor sports facilities will remain open and accessible throughout.
Temporary reception points, toilets and changing facilities will be available while the works take place. However, as our facilities will be reduced, we encourage visitors to arrive ready to play wherever possible.
While the cafés are being upgraded, a temporary catering service will operate, offering outdoor seating and tables only. Please note that temporary café opening hours may vary during the works, so we recommend checking on‑site for the most up‑to‑date information. A reduced temporary sports retail offer will also be available, and stock will be limited during this time.
Will to Win
The tennis courts in Regent’s Park are located near York Bridge. Since 2002 they have been part of the Will to Win network of sport centres where there is a serious focus on helping young people. The site contains 12 tennis courts (8 floodlit), 5 netball courts (2 floodlit), 1 mini tennis court and 1 Padel court (floodlit). The traditionally designed clubhouse has a café and changing rooms.
In 2003 an entertaining tennis match took place between British champion Tim Henman and TV presenter Jonathan Ross, with Annabel Crofts umpiring. Tim Henman played with a cricket bat or a mini-racket and according to reporters, was the winner.
In 2017, the tennis facilities received funding from London Marathon Charitable Trust (LMCT) to improve the quality of facilities on offer, improving the courts surface, floodlighting system, community facilities and introducing padel tennis. Will to Win and The Royal Parks have put together a tennis program to encourage target groups to the facility and report their findings to LMCT. The facility has seen a huge increase in demand and has a tennis offer to cater to all age groups and abilities, plus offering free tennis on off-peak hours.
